Creative Advertisement - How Good Is Yours?

Having a creative advertisement is a must nowdays, especially with the constant bombardment our visual hearing senses get.

Take ipods, MP players, TV, bill posters etc.

You have to beat fire with fire, and be as good as the next.

Below are several great tips to help your site, or advert, be equal to the task.

8 Points For More Creative Advertisements

1. Be Visual

Very obvious, but often overlooked. The visual aspects of a creative advertisement, such as photos or illustrations, the type and the overall impression, should receive at least as much care and consideration as the copy.

2. Dominate The Medium

The average person receives over 500 adverts each day. In that kind of competitive atmosphere, an advert must stand out. Make it BOLD, and do not always 'play safe'.

3. Create Around One Core Theme or Idea

The reader will devote only a few seconds to an advert, and he or she should come away with the one central idea, that the creative advertisement is meant to convey.

4. Know and Target Your Audience

Research your audience or target group. Understand what will 'sell' to that group.

5. Keep It Simple And Elegant

Readers must be able to grasp the message quickly, and easily. Information should be kept at a minimum- just enough to accomplish the advert's objective.

6. Be Specific

Use no generalities. All information should be pertinent, unless your advert has been running for a long time.

7. Surprise The Reader

Adverts should surprise the reader. Show them things they have never seen, or remind them of familiar things in brand new ways. Adverts that are similar to others are not as effective.

8. Be Flexible

Try new things that have not been tried before. Experiment with different styles, colours, etc.
